Custom projects
Project funds
The SUA wants to encourage members of the Ultimate community (clubs and players) to develop and implement their own projects.
It therefore allocates a yearly budget to fund these projects. Projects are given priority for financial support if they:
- contribute to an increase in the number of players;
- raise awareness/visibility of Ultimate in general,
- support the development of Ultimate as a youth sport,
- support diversity and inclusion.
A project evaluation committee (SUA President, SUA Treasurer, SUA Club Consultant, and two elected club members from alternating clubs, each serving a two-year term) reviews the project proposals.
There are 3 project categories:
- Small Project: up to 1,000
- Medium Project: approx. 2,000 CHF
- Large Project: over 4,000 CHF

Project proposal timeline
Step 1: Submitting the Project (week 0)
Submit the project to our club consultant no later than 3 months before the project start date at clubs@ultimate.ch.
Step 2: Formal Review (week 1-2)
The club consultant verifies that the formal requirements have been met, asks for clarification if necessary, and forwards the reviewed version to the evaluation committee.
Step 3: Content Review (week 3-4)
The evaluation committee asks questions about the content. The club consultant summarizes the questions and forwards them to the project initiators and forwards the answers to the evaluation committee.
Step 4: Project Evaluation and Decision(week 5-6)
The evaluation committee submits its evaluation. The club consultant informs the project team whether or not the project has been accepted.
After the project has been realised:
- The project team sends an evaluation and final report to clubs@ultimate.ch.
- They create a post on BeUnity containing a short description and a picture.
- They enter their learnings and best practices here on Bookstack.
